Slava Day is on the 14th November for the Sumer Saint at Pennwood Village and the 14th July for the Winter Saint at Pennwood Green. It is the biggest day of celebration for the Serbian residents at Pennwood and will be the third celebration for Pennwood Green. It is an opportunity for us to showcase our home and to invite special friends who have assisted us plan services. For Serbian residents it is considered a special Orthodox feast day.
On Slava Day we celebrate what is great about being a Serbian. It is a day to reflect on what we have achieved. It is also a day to re commit to making our facility a better place in the future.
We are proud of our Serbian Residents and Board who teach us about the Serbian culture and keep us in touch with what is happening at the Kilkenny and Hindmarsh Community Centres.
We are equally proud of our Residents, Volunteers and Relatives who all do a wonderful job. We have many special people here who like to paint and visit our community centres.
We have many special who help us with physio, outings and our gardening.
Our staffs also come from diverse cultural backgrounds and speak many different languages such as Serbian, Hungarian, Greek, Polish, and many more. But overall the greatest thing about Pennwood Green Nursing Home besides are diversity is residents can have a say about life here, food, activities, furnishings. We can fly our flags and remember our heroes, practice our religion and barrack for our favourite footballers, tennis stars, soccer and footy.
Thank You to our Cooks, Lifestyle Team, Volunteers and Nursing Staff for making this a special Day.
