Pricing Policy
Pennwood Village believes that affordable aged care should be accessible to all. Accommodation prices are negotiable on the basis of your individual financial means.

Maximum Price Schedule
If your income and assets are over a certain amount you may be asked to make an accommodation payment that is agreed with Pennwood Village otherwise the Australian Government will pay for part or all of your accommodation costs (Low- Means Residents).

Prices* current as at 1 Oct 2019 and MPIR is calculated at prevailing 4.98% rate. The payment options provided below are based on the maximum room prices and are not applicable to Government supported customers. A basic daily care fee of up to 85% of the Australian single aged care pension will also be payable in addition to any accommodation payment or contribution. Residents may also be required to pay additional fees and as such, we encourage all prospective residents to seek independent legal and financial advice.
Definitions
Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD): A one off, upfront refundable lump-sum amount for accommodation.
Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP): A daily accommodation fee.
Combination Payment: Apportioned combination of the two above RAD and DAP payment options.
Government Supported Customer: A customer with assets less than $49,500 at time of entry. A government supported customer is not required to pay a RAD or DAP.
Low-Means Residents
Everyone entering into an aged care home for the first time from 01/07/2014 will need to be assessed by the Australian Government as Low-means and may be eligible to pay only an assessed Accommodation Contribution or receive the full government financial support.
If you have low income or no income other than the pension or low assets, you are totally welcome. We specifically maintain a minimum number of places for low-mean residents. The costs and payments are determined by government means testing.
- Residents with low assets (at or below $162,087.20) plus low income (below $26,072.80)
- Residents with low income(at or below $66,178.32) plus low assets (below $47,500)
- Resident with very low assets (below $47,500) plus very low income below $26,072.80)

Accommodation payment arrangements can be tailored to meet individual needs.
Pennwood Village was designed to maximise independent living while ensuring safety and security. We have optional additional services available including the daily newspaper, beauty treatments, hairdressing, a visiting qualified masseur, shopping trips and bus outings. We can also make staff available to escort residents who go out to appointments, luncheons, cultural clubs / pensioner clubs or other venues of their choices
