We want you to feel at home at Pennwood Village
Moving into an aged care home can feel scary and overwhelming and this stage of life can be especially daunting and emotional for everyone involved. We want to provide a safe place to land. We believe that all stages of life are special, and our goal is to ensure that residents at Pennwood are comfortable, feel at home and can live out the final stage of their lives in peace, in comfort and with dignity.
We want Pennwood Village to feel like a home.
Pennwood Village is located in a quiet area in the back streets of Pennington in the Western suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. It is a large property where we accommodate transition care (TCP – short-term restorative care following a hospital stay), respite (short-term care) and permanent placements (residents).
Ready to get started?
Eight houses are located amongst beautiful gardens with meandering paths throughout, perfect for a morning stroll. There are several, lovely outdoor seating areas where residents and visitors can sit and enjoy the fresh air, pick flowers, watch the birds, or have a lovely chat over a cuppa.
Each house has 10 large bedrooms, all with their own ensuite bathrooms and a door to the outside garden area allowing lots of light and fresh air (and additional infection control benefits during global pandemics!). There is a communal kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge area in each house with a smart TV and multicultural satellite channel.
Pennwood Village has a state-of-the-art gymnasium with specifically chosen equipment, a large activity room for fun games, exercise classes and concerts and a popular outdoor ‘Village Square’ with heating and cooling so it can be used all year round. We have a lovely small chapel for quiet prayer and reflection, a fully equipped hairdressing salon with visiting hairdresser and a modern Kafana (café) serving coffee, cake and light meals for our residents and visitors.
Our team of kind, caring lifestyle staff run a tailored activity program offering plenty of things to do in groups or one-on-one depending on preference. Our residents regularly enjoy going on bus outings and shopping trips and our art therapist is always visiting to create beautiful art with residents while healing a few hearts at the same time.
