Pennwood Aged Care Services at Kings Park offers a unique blend of support and independence within a warm, inclusive community. This welcoming 38-bed facility provides care and accommodation for a diverse group of older people including those living as Retirement Village residents, rental tenants, and participants in the Transition Care Program (TCP). The integration of these groups creates a vibrant, connected community where social engagement, wellbeing, and holistic care are at the heart of daily life. A key focus of the Kings Park facility is its reablement services, which are tailored to help TCP clients recover, regain confidence, and ultimately return to independent living at home.

Kings Park also provides case coordination and assists clients with the facilitation of home care packages for those who reside within the retirement village. This ensures that clients can receive continuous care and support, from familiar staff in a familiar setting. The facility’s central location offers excellent access to shops, cafes, a local gym, medical centres, and pharmacies, providing convenience and further opportunities for community connection. Looking ahead, Pennwood plans to enhance its capacity for transitional care by renovating rooms as they become available. The TCP is an essential program supporting SA Health (Central Adelaide Local Health Network/CALHN) to relieve pressure on the hospital system. As part of Pennwood’s strategy, rooms will be gradually upgraded and allocated to TCP clients, maximising the facility’s ability to support older individuals to regain their independence following an extended hospital stay.
