Pennwood Residential Respite
Residential Respite at Pennwood Village is available for a few days or a few weeks at a time. Respite is usually accessed when the older person that needs caring for needs some extra help for a short period of time, their carer needs a break or is going on a holiday for example.
Older people staying at Pennwood for respite are entitled to the same care and support services as permanent residents. Respite residents will be allocated a lovely room with an ensuite and will be provided with services such as meals, laundry, social activities, clinical services and personal care.
Older people can access up to 63 days of subsidised care in a financial year. This includes both planned and emergency residential respite care. It is possible to extend this by 21 days at a time, with approval from an aged care assessor. This may be required due to care needs, carer stress, or the absence of a carer.
